NETHACK GEM v3.13 Rev D - This is the GEM based version of the popular Unix
based Dungeons and Dragons type game of the same name. The game has a
similar feel to the old Gauntlet and Rogue games, although its origins go
further back. Wander around, collect objects and potions, cast spells,
destroy or avoid nasties and progress from one dungeon to the next. Hardened
Nethack players will be glad to know that all the old keyboard commands are
still supported as well as the old file format, so you can load in your
saved games. If you're into these type of games, Nethack GEM is the best
there is. A hard drive is highly recommended but not essential. Needs 4 Meg.

MADTRIS - A Tetris clone with a few extras thrown in. You have to fit the
falling blocks around a central object. Your aim is to clear ten blocks to
proceed to the next level. Each time you cause a chain reaction, you get the
amount of blocks which are destroyed, deducted from the 10 required. If the
blocks touch any of the four sides, the game is over. a nice touch is the
ability to rotate the growing central block as well as the falling ones.
Instructions in English and French, keyboard controlled and for RGB
monitor/TV only.
OH NO! - Guide your penguin around, collecting falling blocks before they
reach the ground. If they do, you'd better jump over them or you'll lose a
life. Collect the specified number of coloured blocks or amass a specified
score to progress to the next level.
H MEC 2 - A Pacman clone. Guide H Mec around the maze, eating everything in
sight, but avoiding the nasties and poisonous spikes.
HANGMAN - An ACC of the age old game. Up it pops, displaying a category and
some blank spaces. You must guess the word. Makes an ideal distraction from
your word processing!

LAME MINE by Aura - Perhaps the best minesweeper clone yet. This is the type
of game where you have to uncover squares on a grid to reveal bombs. 'Safe'
squares contain a number which lets you know how many bombs are adjacent to
them. This game has great music (which can even be switched off!) and
sampled sound effects. It also lets you select a grid size from 5x5 to 38x28
and number of bombs from 5 to 445. If you prefer, you can work your way
through the 28 levels instead! Needs 4 Meg.
OXYD - This is the Falcon/TT version of Dongleware's popular puzzle game.
Guide your black marble around the screen opening a pair of 'Oxyds' as you
go. If the pair match (in colour and design), they stay open, otherwise they
close again. Open all the Oxyds and you progress to the next level. Objects
can be picked up and both hazards and 'nasties' try to impede your progress.
Level codes are given so that you can re-start the game at a later date.
This Shareware version has 10 complete levels. English, French and German
languages are selectable. You must set video to 16 colours, 80 column,
double line off or the program will lock up. Requires a VGA monitor and 4
Meg.
BIG KART - More of a demo than a full blown game. Simply steer your kart
around the track as fast as you can, trying to beat your last record. Press
SPACE to exit at any time and you will be told how many scenes you completed
per second. Requires an RGB monitor/TV and a joystick.
FTRON - A Tron type game for two players. You must avoid bumping into the
walls as well as your opponent. When one player has a collision, the other
player gets a point. Requires two joysticks.

LASERS AND MEN v2.0 by Arnaud Linz - A Wolfstein 3D type combat game running
in True Colour. You are in a dingy dark 3D maze and are constantly being
shot at by soldiers. The browns fight the blues. You are one of the browns
and must erradicate all the blues to proceed to the next level. However,
you'll lose points if you shoot friend instead of foe! As well as opening
doors, exploring each level, collecting objects and destroying the enemy,
you can talk to other characters, walk through certain walls and generally
get up to a whole lot of mischief! A heavy metal soundtrack (which ignores
the volume setting for the internal speaker) plays throughout. Development
on this Shareware version now complete but it contains just two levels,
register for another 19 levels. Control is by using the mouse, joystick or
cursor keys and SPACE opens the doors. Needs 4 Meg. RGB or VGA, but graphics
are better on RGB.

SHOCKER 2 - THE HOUSE OF GAMES - A very addictive puzzle/strategy game for
one or two players. If two players are playing, they must connect the
computers together using the Midi or RS232 ports. The ST version is also on
disk so that you can play against a friend. Using the mouse, you move a
marble around the screen collecting hearts. You must collect all the hearts
on a level to proceed to the next. Each level presents new challenges and
requires different skills. There are 100 levels in all and levels which have
been beaten may be bypassed next time round. Full instruction are accessed
by pressing HELP.
SPACOLA by Dongleware - An ST game which works very well on the Falcon. It
is a fast action shoot 'em up set in Outer Space. It's a case of blasting
everything in sight and getting paid different amounts of money depending on
what you hit. You can also rescue survivors from the targets you hit and
there appears to be a trading element in it too. The on-line instructions
for this one are in German, apart from that, it's a great shoot 'em up. Both
games must be run from ST high res so a VGA monitor is recommended. However,
they do run on an RGB monitor if you can bear the eye strain!

TOWERS by JV Enterprises - You have been shipwrecked off the shores of a
mystical land. Yourself and your crew have been rescued by a wizard and
brought ashore. You are made welcome as you attempt to rebuilt your ship and
set sail. The island is governed by numerous lords who live in tall towers,
the taller the tower, the wealthier its occupant. One of the lords has not
been seen for some time and, in an attempt to earn some desparately needed
cash, your shipmates accept a mission to check on his well being. As they
enter the tower, the entrance crumbles behind them and you have no idea
whether they are alive or dead. You must gain access to the tower and rescue
your friends in this enthralling one or two player (you need 4 Meg if you
want to use the two player option) Dungeon Master clone. This game is
Shareware and well worth registering, since you will be unable to make much
progress without the manual. Towers may be installed on a hard drive.

A COLLECTION OF ARCADE TYPE GAMES FROM THE ST.

destroy the buildings and you crash.

in a castle. The objective is to find the exit on each level and so help

levels of manic play.

editors so that you can create or customise levels to your own
requirements.

A SELECTION OF GAMES (MOSTLY TETRIS CLONES) FROM THE ST.
BOBBLE - This Tetris has yet more variations on the theme than most. The
original shows its age comparing it to this one.
COLUMNS - Columns of three squares travel down the screen. Rows must be made
of the same type of square, which then disappear. Stop the squares from
reaching the top of the screen.

right or cycle through the colours. Three tiles of the same colour in a row
causes the row to vanish. Stop the tiles from reaching the top of the
screen.
MR DICE - A puzzle game where you must shoot descending dice with dice of
the same colour and number in order to make the advancing lines retreat.
Control is by joystick. Each level requires a different solution. Simple but
addictive fun.

the top of the screen. Using the joystick you must stop the piles of blocks
from reaching the top of the playing area by making complete horizontal
lines.
STETRIS - A novel adaptation of Tetris. You can start on any one of 10
different levels, play at any one of 3 skill levels, load and save high

furious action.
UNDER BERKWOOD by Paperback Software. A game similar to "Fred" on the
eight-bit machines. Good game which includes an editor program. Written in

A SELECTION OF TETRIS CLONES FROM THE ST.
BLAT - Probably the best Tetris clone to date. This one has a stereo
soundtrack and countless extra features. In fact it makes the original look
weak in comparison. It's the usual idea of objects dropping from above with
your aim being to create complete rows. Each time you make a complete row,
it disappears and delays the pile of rubble reaching the top of the playing
area. Extra features include smart bombs, mini-avalanches, sticks of
dynamite and much more.
COL-TRIS - Similar in concept to Tetris i.e. you aim to fit all the blocks
together. In this version you can choose different types of 'stones' to
match. These range from floppy disks to highway code symbols! Get three in
a row if you can. Difficult but addictive.
KUBES by Digital Dimension - A puzzle game that bears a passing resemblance
to Tetris. You must clear the screen of falling blocks, however you can't
move the current blocks but you can move the rows of previously collected
blocks. Addictive with some original concepts.
PILE UP by Russell Moll - You must guide blocks down the screen, trying to
fit them together as closely as possible. A variety of options within the
game add to it's deviousness. Some surprises await those completing certain
levels. STOS source included.
COLUMNS - A Tetris & Connect Four type game where you must match different
symbols. You can choose one of four types of symbols with which to play.
If you get 3, 4 or 5 matching they explode and are added to your score. The
game ends when all the columns are full. Excellent sound & graphics.

DUNGEON LORD - Obviously influenced by Dungeon Master but set in the
future. Control is by mouse. You are sent back in time to repair history
and so save the universe from destruction. First create your own
character, then travel through the dungeons of Lord Shrax and thwart his
evil plans. Only three levels are accessible at first. You must register
with the author to get the codes for the other levels.
MYSTIC MIRROR by Jim Todd - In a land far away a powerful wizard enchanted
his life force into a golden skull and proclaimed himself to be a god. Then

his evil plans and prevent the destruction of your world. You may play a
solitaire adventure or you may play with a friend. It is even possible to

KLONDIKE AND CANFIELD - variations of the card game Solitaire.
ST VEGAS - An excellent combination of games here. Roulette, Poker, Black

ATOMIX - A Shareware puzzle game by Tony Martin. You must place atoms of
different values together on a 7*7 board to get as many high scoring atoms
as possible. Increase each atom's score by too much and it explodes.
ELECTRONIC JIGSAW PUZZLE - Load up a Degas, Neo or Tiny format picture
(several supplied on disk). The program jumbles up the picture into 32
blocks. Click on the blocks you want to swap and they will swap with one
another. You are told how long you took to complete the puzzle and how many
moves you used up. You can view the picture at any time. The program also
supports colour cycling.
TREASURE SEARCH by Peter Hickman - You are presented with a map on a grid
and must locate the buried treasure. Features digitised loading music,
sampled speech and excellent graphics.
PLUMBER - A pipeline clone. Try to build complete pipelines before the water
starts to flow.
SERENDIPITY - A puzzle game played against the computer where the player has
to place coloured counters on a board to make lines of 3. The computer tries
to do the same and often wins! Not quite as simple as it sounds and very
frustrating.
TUZZLE21 - A tile puzzle game. 15 numbered tiles are scrambled on a 4*4
grid, you must put them in the correct order as quickly as possible.
ZOOX - An excellent and very addictive puzzle game. The object of the game
is to control a ball around a grid, avoiding enemy balls and stationary
blocks. Each time you pause, a copy of your ball is left behind. You must
fill up all the squares on each level to progress to the next. STOS source

A COLLECTION OF GAMES (MOSTLY PUZZLE TYPE) FROM THE ST.
AERIUS by Binaris - A French puzzle game where you must move coloured cubes
into boxes to form lines of the same colour, which then disappear. Not as
easy as it sounds! Thanks to Ralph Nelson-Tucker for the translation.
COUNTOUT By Tony Greenwood - A two player game based on the Channel 4
television program. Choose nine letters, either vowels or consonants and
try to make the longest word you can within the time limit. Every three
rounds, the computer scrambles a nine letter word, which you must try to
identify within the time limit. Very addictive.
ISOLA - A puzzle game for one or two players. You must stop your opponent
from moving around a grid by destroying squares and moving to an adjacent
square in turn. Neither player can move onto destroyed squares.
MINESWEEPER by Ringpull - A Minesweeper clon. Once again you uncover the
squares and avoid the bombs. The number revealed by a square indicates the
number of mines adjacent to it. Grid sizes can be anything from 10x5 to
whatever your screen will handle. Fully supports overscan, virtual screens
and Falcon resolutions.
PICKER - Try to pick the yellow points as you steer a ball around a grid
using the joystick. Other squares on the grid can help or hinder your
progress. The level of difficulty increases as you progress.
PUZZLE GAME - The computer generates random jigsaw puzzles on screen which
you have to fit together.
STOMP - By moving tiles, you must attempt to spell out the word STOMP. You
control a small character who moves around the screen, stopping when he
reaches a block. He can then move blocks around in order to achieve the
objective of the game. All this is against the clock!
STUMBLING BLOCKS by Mark Annetts - Choose from five different sizes of
grids. Fit the differently shaped blocks into the grid in such a way as to
completely fill the grid. It's not as easy as you'd think! Full source
code in GFA Basic included on disk.
UBOAT - The only game on the disk which is not puzzle related. You control a
destroyer and using depth charges you attempt to bomb the enemy submarines
beneath you. But beware, they can fire missiles back at you and you have

A COLLECTION OF MONO GAMES FROM THE ST.
Don't be put off by the fact that these games only run in ST high
resolution. Despite the distinct lack of colour, they remain amongst the
best games around. A VGA monitor is recommended but not essential.
BOMBS - A Minesweeper clone. Select a grid of any size from 8x8 to 16x30. A
number of bombs (at least 10) will be hidden within the grid. You must click
on a square to reveal what is behind it. If it's a bomb, the game is over.
If not, it will reveal a number indicating how many bombs are in the
adjacent squares. Mark your guesses for the bombs with flags. High scores
are saved to disk. This game has a Zest-like feel to it.
DRACHEN - An old Chinese puzzle involving the removal of matching tiles
from a large initial pile. Highly addictive!
FIND 50 - Differently shaped blocks are presented on screen. Each one has a
different number from 1 to 50. When the timer starts you must click each
number in sequence, trying to get all 50 before your time runs out. It's not
as easy as it sounds!
GMINES - Uncover all the squares on a grid without exploding the mines which
are hidden beneath some of the squares. Clues under revealed by non-
explosive squares help you to decide which squares are safe or which contain
mines.
MINE - A grid contains some hidden mines. You must identify which squares
contain mines without uncovering them. Each turn gives you clues as to the
whereabouts of these mines. A challenging puzzle game.
PENTOMINOES - A similar game to Tetris in which you rotate shapes and fit
them together on a grid. Requires a considerable amount of thought.
TRAPS - Find the whereabouts of traps by clicking on squares with the mouse.
The object of the game is to clear all the squares without setting off the
traps.
THRILLER - A Pacman type game or at least it has that sort of feel to it.
The title screen stays on for a while so don't think the game has crashed!
You are a ball on what looks like a racetrack and you get a bird's eye view
of the racetrack. Move around, dodging other balls and collecting treasure.
The treasure is off the main racetrack and you are safe while you stay off
the track. Collect all the treasure and proceed to the exit. Eleven tough

WINGLORD - You control a knight on a winged unicorn in this one or two
player game. If in two player mode, the second player can be a friend or can
be computer controlled. Your opponents come in attack waves, some are
destroyed by firing at them, others must be jousted off their unicorns. As
each attack wave is cleared, another takes its place. The first 19 attack
waves are included in this Shareware version with the rest being accessible
in the registered version.
VERTICAL MAYHEM by Griff of Electronic Images - A columns clone which has
been specifically written for the Falcon. It's the usual idea of getting a
minimum of three of the same type of blocks in a column horizontally,
vertically or diagonally to destroy the blocks. This variant features great
graphics and 4 channel 50khz stereo soundtracks throughout. What's more
there are 10 levels and two games variants, each with different graphics and
soundtracks. RGB monitors and TVs only.
THURG N MURG - Another of those great platform and ladders games created
using MAGE (previously known as GP graphics engine). You can select child
mode or adult mode and have a one or two player game. Collect all the rings
on one level to progress to the next. Lots of different objects to pick up,
some of which can be fatal! Countless levels of fun.
MARIANT - Yet another variant on solitaire (the card game). It is very well
presented using 3D menus and buttons and is a real must for all card game
players. Help is always at hand with a simple click of the mouse. Highly
recommended.
MAGIC STONES - This multi-function ACC or PRG runs Tetris, Bi-Tetris (a two
player Tetris game where both players play side by side) and Columns. Simply
select the game of your choice from the menu. Graphics are nothing special
but when running as an ACC it's ready to relieve the boredom of your word
processor at any time!
PAIENCE V2.25 - A GEM based collection of 10 variations on the card game

ATOM ANT - A boulderdash clone. You must dig through the soil to recover
gems. A certain number are required before you can progress to the next
level.
GO_UP - An excellent Lode Runner clone, with 69 levels included on the disk.
A level editor is included so you can write your own.
PACMAN ON E'S - A pacman clone which was originally intended for STE
machines. This is a cut down version of the full game but still contains 20
addictive levels. As usual for this type of games, the basic idea is to
guide pacman around the screen swallowing pills as you go and avoiding the
ghosts along the way. This is a very fast game which plays well on the
Falcon.
VIERFREI - An excellent variation of the card game patience. This game
follows most of the rules of patience but with a few exceptions. The game is
supplied with English and German RSC files and docs. We have set it up to
run in English. To call this a game of chance is an understatement, there's
999999 startup positions built into the game!
SHANGHEI V2.0 - Perhaps the best implementation of Mah Jong to date. Remove
the matching tiles from the appropriate rows on the 3D board and clear the
board to win. This version features a training mode and offers hints. It is
Multi-TOS compatible and supports SpeedoGDOS. Highly addictive.
MEGATRON - This is a reworking of the classic light cycles game. This
version is for two players using two joysticks and you must move around the
screen avoiding touching the walls, the trail you are leaving behind you or
your opponent's trail. As soon as one player is knocked out, the other one
must head for the exit to the next level. Many user configurable options and
25 levels of play. Shanghei, Megatron and Vierfrei are fully Falcon
compatible, the others must be run in ST compatibility modes.

BATTLETRIS - Yet another Tetris clone. This one differs very little from the
original game but is enhanced by better graphics and a great stereo
soundtrack. As well as the standard game, you can play against a friend by
linking two Ataris (Falcon or ST) together via a null modem cable. Good
addictive fun.
NOVA CROSSFIRE - A great game to take your mind off your work. Nova
Crossfire runs as an ACC in any resolution of 640x400 or higher. You wander
around the playing area shooting at everything that moves. The only problem
is that there are LOTS of baddies and they are shooting back at you from all
directions.
MINES3 - A Minesweeper clone in which you have to guide your Smiley from top
left to bottom right on an 11x20 grid without uncovering any bombs. As
usual, the number of bombs in adjoining squares is always displayed so that
you can make an educated guess as to where the bombs are. A soundtrack plays
throughout and there are three levels of play.
MOLECULE - You have to locate four, five or six atoms on an 8x8 grid by
firing laser beams at molecules you position on the grid. Interpreting the
results of firing the laser allow you to work out where the atoms are
located, or at least it should in theory. All this is of course done against
a time limit.
TRAPS - A Minesweeper clone. You must clear all the squares on the grid
without uncovering any traps. The playing area is massive, the grid being
16x30 with 99 traps to uncover! If you uncover all the traps fast enough,
you get your name into a highscore table.
TRIPLE YAHOO - A variation of the dice game Yahtze where you have to choose
the most beneficial category to enter your scores into in order to achieve
the highest total. This version supports 1 to 4 players, includes sampled
sound, SpeedoGDOS support and is Multi-TOS compatible. Probably the best
Yahtzee clone yet.
WATERSHIP - You are Wotan, a Saxon war god, and some dinosaurs have stolen
your axe. You transform yourself into a small boat and go in search of the
axe. What exactly you do is rather unclear as the instructions forget to
mention it in any detail!
MASTERS OF CHAOS by Gen & Wax - A Dungeon Master clone with a difference,
it's specifically designed for two players using a split screen display. The
graphics are great but there's no sound on the Falcon! Control is entirely
by keyboard with one player using keys on the left of the main keyboard and
the other player using the numeric keypad. Alternatively, two Ataris (ST, TT
or Falcon) can link up for a two player game via the Midi ports. There are
instructions contained within the program but they're pretty thin on the
ground. However, this should not pose a problem for Dungeon Master and Chaos
fans.

However, uncover too many bombs and you're dead. If you think this sounds
like a Minesweeper clone you'd be wrong! You are playing against a very
strict time limit and it's not easy. The instructions are not the best so it
takes a bit of time to get into the game. Once you get going you'll find
Black Hole highly addictive! The program makes extensive use of digitised
music, sound effects and speech, making it a very atmospheric game. VGA

this to the fact that you are playing against the clock and have a limited
supply of dynamite and you'll see that a fair bit of planning is needed too!
WYRD WAYS by Scott Drummond and Campbell Fraser - You are one of four
players (human or computer controlled) in a combat arena and must collect
six objects and then proceed to kill the other players. Your move is in two
parts, the first involves moving the maze (it is made up of sections and you
can move one section each turn) and the second moves your character.

jackpots, targets and extra balls. It offers fast and furious action on a
longer than usual screen. Are you the Pinball Wizard?
MEDIEVAL CHESS by JV Enterprises - This is an action game as well as a
strategic one! You look down on the chess board from above and move your
pieces more or less in accordance with the normal rules of chess (there are
a few exceptions). However, when you land on an occupied square, you battle
it out with your opponent in the arena. The object of the game is to defeat
the opponent's King in battle. At the beginning of the game, the piece with
the highest stature usually wins. However, each blow erodes your strength,
making it any man's game as it progresses. Great digitised sound effects are
used throughout. You are given the option of one or two players and three
different levels of play. Reminiscent of Battle Chess and perhaps every bit
as good! Another great Shareware release from the authors of Towers.

classic game which is fun to play and very addictive.
MAGNO-BALL by JV Enterprises - Catch the ball using your joystick controlled
ship, a magnet will fix it to the front of your ship, then guide it towards
your opponent's goal. Beware, contact of any kind (with the edges of the
playing area or your opponent) will result in the ball escaping. Once the
goal is in sight, shoot. This is the sort of game that looks much easier
than it really is, but it will have you coming back for just one more try!
RUCKSACK by Ozzy Omara - A demo of what can be achieved using the 3-D

number of corridors using the mouse to click on the relevant icon to aid
your progress.
OXYD RGB - Dongleware's popular puzzle game. Guide your black marble around
the screen opening a pair of 'Oxyds' as you go. If the pair match (in colour

hazards and 'nasties' try to impede your progress. Level codes are given so

Countless levels of play with sampled stereo sound.

There are six different sets of tiles to choose from. You start off with six

COLUMS by Pineau Rodolphe - An impressive Shareware Tetris-like game in
which you have to try to make falling blocks land upon blocks of the same
type. As soon as three identical blocks form a row in any direction, they
all explode and blocks around them drop into their places. The aim, like
Tetris, is to stop the blocks reaching the top of the screen. Just to add to
the fun, there are special blocks which cause different reactions, some
good, others bad! Colums has three difficulty levels and a superb soundtrack
(which can be swapped for sound effects if you desire). This Shareware
version has only one level but the registered version contains ten for each
difficulty setting. Excellent graphics, soundtrack and sound effects, highly
addictive too. Needs 4 Meg.
PINGUIN - A rather curious adaptation of the familiar minesweeper type game
where you must uncover all squares on the grid which do not contain a
penguin. The squares which surround a penguin always indicate how many
penguins are in adjoining squares. A number of preset grid sizes are
available or you can design your own. You can also decide how many penguins
will be hidden in the grid. SpeedoGDOS and Multi-TOS compatible.
TAUTOLOGY by Resevoir Gods - This game is similar in concept to the Mah Jong
tile games but played on a two dimensional board. To remove two tiles, you
must be able to join then with straight lines and are only allowed to turn
the line 90 degrees on two ocassions to perform the match. It's not nearly
as easy as you may think! Tautology has numerous user selectable options
including different tile sets, the ability to create your own (if you have
True Paint), a two player mode, timer on/off and more. Tautology is meant to
run in overscan mode on an RGB monitor but it does work on VGA. However,
some of the writing gets cut off, you get no sound and you can only play in
one player mode. Please note that Tautology must be run from a 40 column
mode. This is a VERY addictive game!

CYBERDROME - A fully playable demo version of this hoverjet simulator which
acts as an introduction to the world of Cyberdrome. The Cyberdrome is a
place where people can react directly with intelligent "artificial life"
programs using virtual reality simulators. However, the system is now under
attack from rogue virus programs. You must use the hoverjet to enter the
simulator and destroy the enemy programs. Use the keyboard to manoeuvre
around this 3-D world. Do you have what it takes to become a Cybernaut? The
full version of the game contains many more missions.
TETRHEX v1.20 by Vincent Lefèvre - A Tetris inspired game played with
hexagons rather than blocks. What's more, you play on a hexagonal grid which
makes the game even harder. As with Tetris, the 'blocks' (comprised of four
hexagons of the same colour in this case) fall down the screen and you must
try to create lines of the same colour. The object is to stop the pile of
blocks from reaching the top of the screen. Blocks can be turned and areas
of the hexagon can be bombed, all against a time limit. This game is unique
in that it allows you change the rules and make up new ones by way of script
files! Although this Shareware version is fully playable, the registered
version has many extras including the ability to load and unload rule files,
the option to write a voice recognition module which uses the DSP, enhanced
playability, joypad compatibility, Multi-TOS compatibility, resolution
independence and much more. A frustratingly difficult, yet addictive game.
Although Falcon specific, must be run from ST low res.
SKY DUEL by Tim Chapman - A Shareware air and land combat game for up to
three players. You can choose to control a plane, helicopter, cannon or
balloon. You can also choose which one of the five landscapes to play as
well as a number of other options such as weather conditions, number of
games, arcade or strategy game etc. Regardless of which craft you decide to
control, the object is the same, to destroy your opponent's craft before he
destroys yours. Various statistics such as wind speed, base population, fuel
level, bullets left, bombs left and crafts left are all displayed throughout
the game. You can fire bullets, launch missiles or drop bombs on your
opponent(s). If you get shot down, guide your parachute down to land on the
base for extra points. Play against a friend or take on the computer, you
decide!
THE ULTIMATE ARENA by STeam - An impressive karate game featuring digitised
stills of every possible move so that it's a bit like taking part in a film!
Gameplay is really tough, making it a real challenge rather than just a game
with great graphics. This Shareware version is fully playable but restricted
to three rounds with one of two opponents at a single location. The full
version features seven different opponents, different scenic locations, a
two player mode and much more.

TOWERS II V1.2b by JV Enterprises - The long awaited followup to Towers I on
F.4352. You begin with film-like credits and choose which of the four
characters you want to be. As you progress through the dungeons, there are
objects to collect and use, guards to fight, doors to unlock or open and
spells to collect and perform. There are secret doors hidden in walls,
chains to pull, armour to wear and friendly characters to interact with.
Each character has its own strengths and weaknesses and you must choose
wisely. You have to remember to eat and sleep when necessary and watch your
strength, otherwise you'll die an agonising death! As you progress, you will
find stairs leading to the upper floors of the tower and can pinpoint your
location on any floor at any time by using the map feature. Only a limited
number of objects can be carried but there is a way of increasing your
carrying capacity. Unlike its predecessor, Towers II only runs on the
Falcon. Although the program is very similar in concept to Dungeon Master on
the ST, calling it a clone would be an insult. Towers II has better
graphics, better sound effects, an atmospheric soundtrack, more intuitive
controls, much smoother animation and improved gameplay over Dungeon Master.
It you're into role playing games, this may be the only game you'll ever
play on any computer! This is the full version of Towers II but you will
only be able to progress up to a certain point without registering.
Registration is available in the UK and is recommended in order to fully
appreciate this unbelievable game. Needs 4 Meg and a hard drive.

BUGS by David Munsie - Arcade Dave's back with another blast from the past.
This is a much improved fast action Shareware Centipede clone. The usual
shoot everything the moves, rule applies and you must destroy the centipede
to progress to the next level. This variant has numerous bees and other
insects making a guest appearance at times just to spice things up. There
are three skill levels and special bonuses on the harder levels. Great fun!
VALENCY by Jens Schultz - An excellent Shareware puzzle game in which you
must create molecular structure of varying complexities depending upon which
of the 300 levels you are on. Atoms must be placed in the correct sequence
and there are rules as to exactly which atoms go where. The structure can be
rotated as required to achieve your task. The game is GEM based and very
easy to pick up once you've played it a few times. Unfortunately both docs
and program are in German but we've done RUF translation of the docs and the
on-screen text is in English. Highly recommended.
ZODIAX by Digital Nightmares - A horizontally scrolling shoot 'em up
developed specifically for the Falcon. Zodiax is a sort of defender brought
right up to date. There are five different levels to fight your way through,
each with its own multiple attack waves. As you progress through the levels
there's powerups, tokens, shields, extra lives and much more to be
collected. The sprites in Zodiax are massive and the scrolling is smooth.
There's realistic looking explosions, atmospheric sound effects and sampled
speech throughout. Another example of what a good Shareware game really
should be like on the Falcon! Needs 4 Meg.

WIN COLTRIS V2.0 by Morus Walter - A Multi-TOS compatible game which
features both Tetris and Columns. You select which game you wish to play and
can set various options such as whether or not you want to see the following
block in advance and whether statistics and scoring boxes should be
displayed. You can also define the keys you want to use. The games are
conventional implementations and will run in any palette based mode. If
running in 256 colours, you'll have to colour in the alternative stone
files, otherwise they'll be invisible!
SUPER BOMBERMAN V0.8 by Marc Bourlon - A conversion of a PC game for 1 to 6
players. The aim of the game is blow up your opponents. You do this by
dropping bombs, but beware, you must escape before the bomb goes off! The
bombs must also be used to blast holes through dead ends in the walls.
Obviously this is made even more exciting by the fact that your opponents
are also trying to blow you up! There are bonuses to collect too, these give
you extra bombs or let you kick and punch the bombs. Control is by keyboard,
joystick or joypad.
BOMBERMAN - A two player version of Super Bomberman. It looks interesting,
but lacks instructions, so you're on your own with this one!
BOMBSQUAD by Yiannis Paschalidis - Another Bomberman clone. Rather than
playing against others, you have to blow up all the killer robots on one
level to progress to the next, all within a time limit of course. This is
complicated by the fact that several monks are chasing you in Pacman style.
Each time you blow up a robot, you get a bonus icon to collect. There are
several different types of these, each with a different function. This
version features 8 levels and a 40 level version with lots of extras is
available from the author. A frantic fun game with a superb soundtrack.
MEN OF WAR preview II by Bonus Software - A simple two player, two joystick
game. Dodge behind the bunkers and come out shooting in an attempt to kill
your opponent before he kills you. The first player to reach five points
wins. Not a lot of gameplay at the moment, but this is an early release.

Nishiran has seized control of the planet Drenium and is plundering its
resources in order to conquer the Universe. You are sent to Drenium to sort
out the mess and restore order. You are given a small battery powered
vehicle in which to negotiate the terrain. You must move around the planet
collecting things and dodging vicious plants (amongst other things!). Within
your multi-purpose vehicle is a chemical laboratory where you can mix
together various concoctions to replenish your battery power and manufacture
your own weapons. Nishiran follows the well loved Dungeon Master idea whilst
remaining for the most part, original in its implementation of the theme.
For those who find it just too tough, there's a complete solution to level

alien crafts shooting at you, spacemen to rescue and alien creatures to

the gameplay is fast and furious. There are lots of user definable options

in concept but addictive in practice. You fire at a variety of nasties and a
successful hit traps the relevant being in a floating bubble. Collide with
it to burst it and kill the monster inside. If you take too long the monster
escapes and comes after you with a vengeance! Kill all the monsters to move

impressive graphics and a superb soundtrack. Needs 4 Mb.
TAUTOLOGY II by The Resevoir Gods - The followup to the legendary Chinese

faced with another seven mind-boggling levels!
NIBE 2 by Marc Bourlon - A snake game where the snake moves continuously and
must eat all the apples on one level to progress to the next. The only
problem is that he grows each time he eats an apple and you lose a life if
he bumps into a wall or his own tail! This version has colourful graphics,
multiple levels and user definable control keys and speed.
MOLECULE 2 by Jean-Etienne Doucet - A new version of the old light rays game
from the early days of computers. The player must determine the position of
a number of atoms on a board by firing a laser at the board and observing
the reaction. Laser rays can either be absorbed, deflected or reflected,
depending on how close they come to the hidden atoms. Mouse controlled
throughout. A good implementation of this classic game.
SOLITAIR V1.5 by Dirk Hagedorn - Yet another of those games played with
beads, where the aim is to eliminate all the other beads from the board.
What makes this one so different is that it runs as an ACC or PRG and is
Multi-TOS friendly.
ZEBULAND by JAY Software - A simply presented puzzle game based on an old 8-
bit title. You must manoeuvre various blocks around the playing area in such
a fashion so as to create a path to the stairway. Reach the stairs and
you're off to play the next, more challenging game. Fifteen levels are
included in this Shareware version, register for the rest.
SOS HANGMAN V2.0 by John Duckworth - A well presented ACC version of the age
old classic. There are about 400 words used in Hangman, so you are unlikely
to come across many 'repeats' unless you are a persistent player! For each
game, a word is chosen randomly from the data file and its category (cinema,
personalities, television, arcade, toons, music or literature) is given as
your clue. Get 7 wrong guesses and you're hanged!
WILLIE THE ADVENTURER (3/97 PREVIEW VERSION) by New Beat Development -
Willie is an amusing cartoon character who bounces along and exchanges
niceties with you from time to time. In this second preview there are a few
nasties and booby traps to beware of, although there will be more in the
final version. Also, play is restricted the a single level (the Jungle
Adventure) and the intro, end of level sequence and so on have been omitted.
Also, you get just one life and even this preview's challenging. Control is
by keyboard or joypad. Willie has been likened to Rayman on the Jaguar and
looks like being the best platformer yet. The graphics and soundtrack (8-
bit, 50 khz) are superb and the gameplay's addictive.
BOMBZAI by Adrenaline - An early preview of a forthcoming Super Bomberman
clone. This one offers more than just the chance to blow up walls and a few
opponents, there are transporter pads and multi-directional tunnels too.
This game is for two or three players and the preview version lacks sound
and a highscore table as well as having only one level. If the full version
lives up to the promise of this preview.....
STAR TUNNEL by Aggression - Play the 3D tunnel sequence of the game Star
Dust for free! Features fast action with large sprites and realistic
explosions. This version has unlimited lives and no sound, but is otherwise
identical to the same sequence in the full game. A few games of this short

phenomena (like a rising water line) to avoid. The rules are different too,
sometimes the nasties guard the gems, other times they chase you! Cave Mania

STELLO 2.1 by Claus Pedesen - The Falcon version of the popular board game

extras. A number of images are supplied so that you can use a nice colourful
board for play, and almost everything can be set up to suit your own
preferences (border colour for discs, show possible moves, fast move, chess
or othello annotation etc). Stello can be played by one or two players or
you can just watch a demonstration. Several levels of play are supported and
moves can be taken back if 'necessary'. Fully Multi-TOS and SpeedoGDOS
compatible. Includes extensive ST-Guide documentation (STG supplied) and
supports the English, French, German and Danish languages. The best Othello
game available!
MIDI WIZ V1.0 by Heiko Hartmann - It's the old story of a peaceful kingdom
governed by a wise king, who dies without naming a successor. As a result,
his six sons get greedy and want the best parts of the kingdom for
themselves. You play the part of one of the six sons, preparing to battle it
out with your brothers. Midi Wiz uses an overhead view like Nethack and
Gauntlet and is a sort of trading/conquest game. You must increase your
armed forces, build fortifications and of course trade goods with others.
The use of magic to invent things (a bit like Dino Dudes but not so much
fun!), create dragons, elephants, healing potions etc, all adds to the
appeal. As the name suggests, Midi Wiz allows several computers to be linked
together in a Midi network so that you can compete against others in real
time. As the game runs on any Atari computer, you could easily link up an
ST, TT and Falcon in a network. This unregistered version does not let you
save your progress, limits the size of the network to three computers and
has a few more limitations. Register for the full version.
FALCTRIS by Jimmy Swiggers - As the name suggests, this is yet another
Tetris clone. It doesn't go in for fancy rules or matching up blocks of the
same colour or even random explosions! What it does do is offer a damned
fine good of Tetris. You get a brightly coloured raytraced background and
the usual column filling up with blocks falling from above. The blocks
themselves are also True Colour just to jazz things up and there's an
amusing sample which plays when you lose a game. Falctris can be played at
10 different speed levels or you can increase the speed automatically for
each new level. In addition, the author has included some custom designed
levels just to keep you on your toes. Well worth adding to that growing
collection of Tetris games.

WORLD CONQUEST v0.9i by Alois Felber - A strategic game of war (based on

city from where they must start. Cities produce weapons, provided that they
can acquire sufficient resources, and these weapons can be used against your
enemies or to gain control of more cities which in turn will produce yet
more weapons. This latest version is fully Falcon compatible, running in any
16 or 256 colour mode. It is also Multi-TOS compatible and you can play two

the author. World Conquest is a real classic! Program in English with

MISER MIND v1.0 by Denis Miquel - An adaptation of the 'Mastermind' game
played with coloured pegs. You must guess the correct colours and sequence

pegs per row and use between six and twelve colours. You can also decide to
allow or disallow blanks and more than one peg of the same colour in a row.
Docs and RSCs in both English and French.
POUSPOUS by Denis Miquel - A sliding puzzle game. Although two puzzles are
supplied, you can use any greyscale or 24-bit TGA file as the basis of the
puzzle. Puzzle sizes are user defined and can range from a 3x3 grid to a
massive 10x10. The object is of course to slide the pieces around to
reconstruct the original image.

conjunction with the DOOM1.WAD file from the Shareware version (PC or Mac)
of Doom. Due to the size of the WAD file (around 4 Mb), it has not been
possible to include it on the disk (even archived!) so you will have to

necessary WAD files range from 4 Mb to 14 Mb in size, hence their omission
from this disk! Well worth checking out if you can get your hands on the
appropriate WADs. Now supports NOVA graphic cards and extended screen
resolutions. This version runs on 1 Mb machines with RGB or VGA displays.
A hard drive is needed for both Doom engines on this disk and neither
currently allows you to play the game (yet), you can merely walk around the
supported levels.
BAD SHELL V2.0 by Vanel Rémi - An easy to use GEM based shell for Bad Mood.
Everything is selectable by simple mouse clicks, thus eliminating the need
to type parameters into the TTP. Fully Multi-TOS compatible.
TAKE TWO V2 by Marco Feikert - The English version of a former commercial
release from Germany. Take Two is a Match-It type tile game. There are
various different tile sets, different grid sizes and several difficulty
levels. Your aim is simple, to remove all tiles from the playing area before
your time runs out. This is done by removing pairs of tiles which can be
linked by a straight line which must change direction no more than twice on
its route. Time limits are tight and this game presents a real challenge. As
well as the game itself, there is a level editor and a solver program (to
ensure that the new levels you create are solvable!).
GEM AMIGO V1.0 by Warwick Allison - The ST port of the Unix port of the
Amiga game AmiGO! It is essentially the board game GO played against the
computer. It is very attractively presented in a nice GEM interface and is
fully Multi-TOS compatible. Full C++ sources included but you'll need to
know the rules of GO in order to play!

MINE V1.02 by Pestouille - A Falcon-specific Boulderdash type game. You play
a miner and must collect all the bombs on one level, then proceed to the
exit in order to reach the next level. Just to complicate things there's
something (looks like rubble from collapsing tunnels) chasing you and
various obstacles (walls, ponds etc) to hamper your progress. Mine is an
impressive game with cartoon graphics, superb sound and a built-in level
designer. So where's the catch! Both program and docs are in French. Runs on
RGB and VGA.
TANK BUSTERS v1.12 by Fabrice Vende - A game for up to four players (uses
normal joystick ports, STE joystick ports, Jaguar Powerpad or keyboard for
control) in which your sole aim is to destroy the tanks driven by your
opponents. It's a bit like Dynabusters or Super Bomberman in concept except
that you control armoured tanks in this variant. Almost everything can be
customised so that you can play against each other (normal mode), in teams
or in hunt mode (the most challenging by far). Some nice raytraced
backgrounds and good music feature in this Shareware version which has 16 of
the 1000 levels included. The full version also has five soundtracks (two in
this version), four times the amount of graphics and more... Despite its
origins Tank Busters is in English and has English docs. RGB ONLY.

CONQUEST OF CLYSIUM by Johan Karlsson - An epic fantasy role playing game
specially designed for the Falcon. Up to 8 players can participate or you
can play against the computer. Your aim is to achieve total supremacy over
an entire continent by whatever means you see fit. There are 17 different
types of character which can be assumed, including Warlords, Barbarians,
Priests, Witches, Goblins, Druids and such like, all with different
strengths and weaknesses. On each turn, you move your commander(s) a
specified number of squares (up to a maximum of 3) or use up your 'action
points' in other ways, such as for the casting of spells. On your travels
you will encounter other beings who will either join you or fight you. You
must build Citadels and leave troops to guard them, as you progressively
conquer the land. Taxes must be raised (but be careful you don't set them
too high or the peasants will revolt!) and armies recruited. This is a truly
mindblowing game with dragons, orcs, dwarfs, elves, trolls, the undead!,
knights, cavalry, vampires, magic potions, powerful charms, curses and so
forth to contend with! Strategy, brute force and sheer luck all enter the
game to greater or lesser degrees. With many raytraced graphics within the
game, it just smacks of professionalism. This Shareware release has a few
restrictions such as limiting the total moves per game (if you survive long
enough to find out!) and disabling of the load and save game options as well
as the inability to select certain character types and game options. As well
as removing these restrictions, the full version also has many more classes
of characters with special abilities and lots more monsters to fight. This
game is a must for all fantasy role playing fans and just the kind of
release to 'convert' the uninitiated. This is what quality Falcon software
is all about! Needs 4 Mb and won't run unless NVDI is installed.

SQUARE OFF by Dave Munsie - Arcade Dave's back with another compelling blast
from the past! This is a very highly polished Tetris game with lots of
extras over the original. It's crammed with sound samples and DMA sound
throughout as well as the usual high quality graphics and gameplay we all
expect from Dave. You can play one or two player games using joystick,
Jaguar joypad or any combination of these. There's Classic, Arcade and 2
Player Battle modes. This Shareware version is complete except that you are
restricted to playing just 7 of the 20 levels or a single levelif in Battle
mode. It just oozes with quality and is even more addictive than the
original.
BIO HAZZARD 2 DEMO by Village Software - A playable demo of the followup to
Les Greenhalgh's Bio Hazzard (Shareware version on F.4398) where you wander
around the overhead view maze collecting objects, opening doors and firing
at aliens. Bio Hazzard 2 is a one of two player strateg based game in which
you control a variety of different cyborgs in an attempt to rid the galaxy
of the dreaded Xenomorphs. Control is by mouse, keyboard or Jaguar joypad in
this turns based game. Each character has a limited number of turns per move
and can carry a number of objects with him. A well presented game with lots
to do, even in this restricted version.

FIREFORCE by Trigon - An arcade adventure which draws influences from both
Dungeon Master and Alien but with a Doom-esque sort of feel to it. You play
the part of a Space Marine on a mission to eliminate a criminal organisation
known as The Red Hordes. As you would expect, this game is based around
wanton destruction. Shoot everything that moves and run for it if your shots
are doing no good! There are lots of objects to collect and use, doors to
open and dead ends to avoid. A unique feature of Fireforce is its support
for up to three players participating simultaneously, either cooperatively
or against each other. Alternatively one player can control up to three
marines. Control is by joystick, keyboard or Jaguar joypad and you can save
your game at any time. Specially enhanced for the Falcon with DSP generated
sound (also uses TT compatible DMA sound). You progress from one level to
the next by killing all the monsters (or your friend/s if in dual mode) or
finding the exit. You have several weapons at your disposal all of which
have their stengths and weaknesses. This Shareware version lets you play 3
full levels chosen randomly from 15 (each of which can consist of several
floors), the full version has 42. The full version also features three
different scenarios and a level editor. Fireforce needs 4 Mb and a hard

GEMTREK V1.1 by Jürgen and Uwe Holtkamp - A cross between Star Trek and
Battleships & Cruisers. The storyline follows that of Star Trek with your
computer controlled opponents being the Kingons or Romulans and your ships
resembling famous crafts from the Federation Starfleet. However, that's
where the similarity ends (well almost!). Gameplay itself follows that of
the Battleships and Cruisers game where the aim is simple, to sink (blow
up?) the enemy's ships. GemTrek is unsurprisingly housed in a slick GEM
interface and runs as an ACC or PRG. It is of course fully Multi-TOS and
MagiC Mac compatible. Docs in English and German, program in English, German
and Swedish. On-line Help in ST-Guide (not included) format.
THE ORIGINAL V2.10 by Gerrit Meyer - A faithful reproduction of the original
Boulderdash game. For anyone not familiar with the original version, you
must collect all the diamonds on each level and find the exit to the next
level. This is complicated by the fact that rocks must be moved in order to
access some of the diamonds and its all too easy to let one drop on your
head! Certain monsters also aim to impede your progress. You are of course
playing against the clock too! Fully playable but with certain extras
reserved for registered users. Documented in both English and German. A real
classic.

TECKNOBALL by Pascal Ognibene - An impressive Arkanoid/Breakout clone. For
those not familiar with the original, it's a bat and ball game where you
must prevent the ball from going off the bottom edge of the screen. The
playing area contains lots of coloured bricks. You must bounce the ball
against these to destroy them. Clear them all from the screen and you
progress to the next level. Most bricks require a single hit to destroy
them, others need several hits. Lots of bonuses can be collected, these
include extra lives, wider bat, multiple balls, magnetic balls, speed up
balls, slow down balls etc. As suggested by the name of the game Teckno
style music plays throughout. In addition, there's a lot of excellent
sampled speech. This Shareware version features one soundtrack (10 in full
version), five levels (36 in full version) and one "big boss" to defeat (you
get one every five levels in the full version). Docs in English and French,
speech in English. Very well produced title for Arkanoid fans everywhere.

BOMBSQUAD by Yiannis Paschalidis - Yet another Super Bomberman clone. You
start off in the middle of the screen surrounded by killer robots. Your aim
is to blow them all up in order to progress to the next level. As with
similar games, you place a bomb, then run for cover. However, that's where
the similarity ends as you are not trying to destroy your fellow players (up
to 4 can play), instead all players work together to destroy the robots.
Bombsquad features lots of powerups and bonuses, some of which can have
spectacular results. This Shareware version is limited to two sets of levels
(several levels in each set) and the combat level. The full version features
40 regular levels, 5 puzzle levels, 15 different enemies, 5 end of level
guardians and much more. Great fun! Needs 4 Mb.
MIND SWEEPER V1.1 by Eric Hameleers - Yet another Minesweeper clone. As is
usual, you must uncover squares all the squares in a grid without detonating
one of the hidden bombs. This variant allows you to choose between 3
different board sizes and six difficulty levels. It even has a built-in
cheat mode, should you wish to use it. An added feature is its tournament
mode which lets you compete against a friend, playing an agreed number of
games and having your scores recorded in a highscore table. Includes on-line
Help in both English and Dutch.
TIMES V1.0 by Jim Baumgardner - A computerised version of Noughts and
Crosses (Tic Tac Toe if you're American). Unless it's being played by a
young child every game is likely to result in a draw if playing against the
computer. The author has addressed this by making the game networkable so
that you can play against a friend by modem or MIDI (humans are less
predictable than computers!). You can of course both play on the same
computer without networking if desired.
TRAX v1.0 by Thierry Grellier - A strategy based board game for two players.
The game consists of 64 identical tiles with black and white straight
sections on one side and black and white curved sections on the other. The
players take turns and aim to build a track which connects two of the four
sides of the playing area. The first player to achieve this wins. Thanks to
Ralph Nelson-Tucker for the translation. The TRAX.FAQ (which explains the
rules of the game) is also on disk.

RUNNING by STAX - Difficult to classify this one as either a game or a demo!
It's actually a preview of a DOOM clone. It is the followup to DOOMINO on
F.5138 but much has changed. It is now a full 3D game engine. Running
features texture mapped walls, great sound effects and an atmosphere which
is as close to DOOM as you're going to get. The options and controls are
DOOM, the characters are DOOM, the only thing it lacks is the huge playing
area and of course the high standard of gameplay. This preview version is
fully function but with just a single type of monster and a single soldier
type (although there are many of them). Also, you can kill them but they
can't kill you. There's a decent sized area to explore, objects to collect,
lots of user options and plenty of blood 'n' guts to keeop the average
player 'amused' for some time! I can't wait to see the release version!

asteroids are planets (they actually look more like rotating golf balls!).
It's much harder to steer your ship in this version and therefore much more

SKYFALL by The Resevoir Gods - Yet another outstanding Tetris/Columns clone.
As usual, you change the order of the objects falling from above so as to
get at least three matching symbols when the block finds its resting place.
Rows or columns of three identical symbols results in those objects being
eliminated from play. As you would expect from Resevoir Gods, there's lots
of extras like a multi-player option (simultaneous action), different sets
of symbols (all superbly drawn), ghosts to hamper your progress, green
charms to protect against the ghosts, several variations on the game theme,
different board sizes, three difficulty levels and much more. Control is by
keyboard, joystick or joypad and everything in the game can be customised to
suit. Incredible Shareware release from one of the best programming teams on
the Falcon. Needs 4 Mb.
LITTLE 15 V2.00 by Dirk Hagedorn - A sliding puzzle game. You must unjumble
the numbers in order to make them run continuously from 1 to 15. Good fun
with several levels of difficulty. All in German but everyone knows how to
play a sliding puzzle game, don't they? Runs as an ACC or PRG. Multi-TOS
friendly.
MOVE IT V1.5 by Dirk Hagedorn - Puzzle game in which you push all the blocks
in one level to the marked area in order to progress to the next level. Not
as easy as it sounds, especially as you normally end up boxing yourself into
a corner! Program in English and German, docs in German. Runs as an ACC or
PRG. Multi-TOS friendly.
TRICKY V2.71 by Dirk Hagedorn - The dice game Yahtzee. Very well presented
and easy to use with nothing more than a few mouse clicks needed for any
action. Unfortunately it's all in German but you'll have no problems if you
understand Yahtzee. One of the better adaptations of this game. Runs as an

over-run by organised crime and the Bomb Squad have the job of obliterating
the criminals by whatever means they see fit. Mr Big (or Mr Flibble in this
case) has unleashed masses of robot drones to eliminate the Bomb Squad and
your mission is to destroy these and progress to their local command centres
(guarded by tougher than average robots) which must also be destroyed. You
can play cooperatively with others to defeat the robots or competitively
against each other (assuming there's more than one player!) Control is by
normal joystick or Jaguar joypad. There are various powerups and bonuses to
be collected throughout the game and your game can be recorded (an example

as well as a level designer so that you can create your own. An impressive

POWER UP V1.0 by MC Soft - A racing car game from the Czech Republic. The
game is seen from an overhead perspective looking down on the track. Five
cars participate in each race, two of which can be human controlled. Control
is by keyboard or joystick and is much more responsive than similar games of
this type. The aim of the game is simple, to win the race and reduce your
own lap time. Power Up is unique in that it runs on any Atari computer but
has the ability to utilise the blitter and DMA sound (at up to 50 Khz) and
offers a fast scrolling mode for Falcon owners. It can also output sound to
Replay, Replay Professional, Playback, MV16 and Prosound Designer
cartridges. This is a cut down version allowing you to play on three
different tracks. The track editor is disabled but all other options are
fully functional. The full version has lots more tracks and 5 different
scenarios for each track. It also includes the track editor, more music and
more graphics. Full docs in English and Czech, game in English. Needs 4 Mb.
NOSCO - A puzzle game played on a matrice with blocks and balls. You must
select the appropriate balls (in the correct sequence) in order to move the
blocks and complete the puzzle. Unfortunately both program and docs are in
French. QUADRAT v1.0 by Dirk Hagedorn - A magic squares game. The aim of the
game is to place the tiles (numbered from 1 to 25) onto a 5x5 matrix so that
all lines (horizontally, vertically and diagonally) add up to 64. Fully
multi-tasking friendly. An excellent challenging puzzle game. Unfortunately
both program and docs are in German but we've done a RUF translation of the
docs.
THE ULTIMATE MINESWEEPER V0.1 by Endre Burany - Yes, it's another

digitised sound effects as you progress. The default board size is 8x8 with
10 bombs but this can be set to your own preference. Multi-tasking friendly
too.

than that I can't say much as the program's in French and there's no docs.

either blowing them up or splitting them into lots of smaller asteroids. The
aim is to clear the screen of asteroids before one collides with you. In
this version you are returned to the Desktop after losing all three lives.

GESS V1B by Jean-Etienne Doucet - The computer version of a board game
invented by the mathematical society of the University of Cambridge (also
known as the Archimedeans). It is based upon chess but played on an 18x18
chequered board and all the pieces look alike (as in draughts). It is
usually played on a Go board using the standard sets of stones. It's a two
player game with rather complicated rules but is very well documented (in
English!) and should be easy to pick up.
QUINZAINE V1.0 by Jean-Etienne Doucet - An excellent implementation of
patience played with two packs of cards. The cards are dealt randomly into
15 piles and must be arranged into eight piles (one ascending, the other
descending for each suit). Rules are basically those for patience and are
fully explained in both English and French.
RED CAT RUMMY 500+ by Yam Software - A computer rendition of the popular
card game. This implementation is easy to use and features several
difficulty levels when competing against the computer. It is also possible
to play a two player game over the modem or by connecting two Ataris via a

YUKON (REL F) by Dirk Haun - Perhaps the best ever implementation of

MOONGAMES by Gilles Audoly - This is an updated version of MoonSpeeder and
has been released as Freeware by the author following the closure of
Composcan France, the distributors of its predecessor. Moongames is a racing
game (in which you pilot a hovercraft-type vehicle) set on different
racetracks and labyrinths located on different planets. After a rather
impressive intro, you are presented with the option of training or competing
in the championships. After a spell of training on the various tracks (some
are unavailable until you reach a certain stage in the championships), you
progress to compete in the real thing. This involves completing 15 different
tracks or labyrinths with a target of coming fourth or better overall.
Choosing the best vehicle is vital and there are eight on offer. The tracks
each present their own challenges and victory can be elusive to say the
least. Upon completion of every second race you enter a bonus round in which
you can lose points as well as gain them! Moongames is a challenging game
designed to give months of gameplay (you can save your game at any point and
resume at a later date). It can be played by one or two players using
joystick, mouse, joypad or keyboard. In addition, there are lots of user
definable options which can be set. Very highly recommended. Needs 4 Mb and

SWORM by The Resevoir Gods - A snake type game with quite a few differences.
You collect numbers which appear at random positions on the screen. Each
time you collect the number, your snake grows by one segment and the number
collected is added to your score. Hit your own tail and your score reverts
to zero. You must achieve the specified high score in order to progress to

character from above. You must free the prisoners, defuse the bombs and
collect the various objects. The first level is simple. After that, there
are various nasties to avoid. Control using the numeric keypad.

FROGGER by Dave Munsie - Arcade Dave resurrects this old favourite where you
must cross a busy road and negotiate a river in order to reach safety on the
other side. Includes a few new hazards but is otherwise a faithful
conversion of the original.
TOY MAN V1.0 by PeyloW of T.O.Y.S. - A very small (under 10K!), yet playable
version of PacMan for the Falcon. It features a large playing area with lots
of ghosts and the usual power pills. There's even multiple levels! Pity the
ghosts aren't very intelligent! Great fun. RGB ONLY.
ADDER by Quasar - This snake game was obviously the inspiration between The
Resevoir Gods' Sworm (F.6024). It also features numbers to collect and
several levels of play. A great soundtrack and various samples throughout
make this an excellent game. Not as well presented or with so many options
as the RG version but equally addictive.
DONKEY ISLAND PREVIEW by Ed Cleveland - An early preview of what could
easily become the biggest game release of the year! It is a graphic
adventure but don't let that put you off, this one puts the Sierra On-Line
games into the wastepaper basket! You control an extremely well drawn
cartoon character called Fred and must guide him around his house and beyond
into the streets of his locality in search of the lost computer game, Donkey
Island. Everything about this game shines. You just can't fail to get
addicted to it! This is an early version, so don't expect too much. Having
said that, you'll be impressed, I am!
TIC-TAC-TOE v1.01 by Matthew Bacon - Cadenza Software have done it again.
This excellent noughts and crosses game is impressive in presentation,
multi-tasking friendly and lets you play against a friend or the computer (a
worthy opponent). Perhaps the best game of noughts and crosses you'll ever
play!
SOKOBAN ICE by Johan Sprang - A re-write of the old classic puzzle type game
where you have to push blocks around the screen and avoid boxing yourself
in. In this version you play a hippie ghost who is frantically trying to
disguise all his CND signs (by hiding them behind stones) in advance of an
inspection by the local ghost licensing agency! Graphics are superb, hiding
the game's 8-bit roots whilst maintaining the addictive playability of the
original. 45 levels are supplied along with easy instructions on how to
create your own.
DUBLXMAS by The Resevoir Gods - An additional Double Bobble (F.5306)
adventure. It gives you 12 levels of seasonal platforms and ladders action
with your favourite heroes Dub and Dob. Please note that this additional
adventure only works with the registered version of Double Bobble, so get
registering!
KAKANOID by G Roy - An Arkanoid clone with all the usual bonuses and
different types of bats to collect. It's just the usual scenario where you
must bounce the ball around and destroy all the coloured blocks in order to
progress to the next level, some blocks requiring more hits than others.
Kakanoid has 15 levels and you choose which level you wish to start with.

SPICE by Martin Steen - The latest Defender clone to grace our screens. This
is one of the better ones with large colourful well-drawn sprites, sampled
sound effects and more. It's not just you versus the aliens, there's
different types of aliens! There's mutants, bombers, swarmers, baiters and
of course motherships to contend with. You do of course have you trusty
scanner on hand and a single smart bomb (more can be 'earned') to get you
out of those tricky situations. Hyperspace is another method of escape but
it is dogged by problems too. There are three difficulty settings and
several user definable options. Control is by joystick or Jaguar joypad.
This Shareware version restricts gameplay to the first five levels. Needs 4

SUBAQUA by Digi Tallis - The background story to this one is a mini-novel in
its own right! To sum it up, it is set in the third millenium and Yikosaka
are an interplanetary trading company. They have discovered LV-217, a planet
rich in mineral resources and "real" water. In an attempt to protect their
find, Yikosaka install a Space Station above LV-217. However, news leaks out
and others from across the galaxy, known as freeminers, decide to cash in on
the planet's mineral resources. They sneak in undetected, grab what they can
and leave. Your task is to destroy them. You start off with a basic
spacecraft and earn credits for each freeminer destroyed. Credits are
collected when you dock with the Space Station and may be used to repair or
enhance your ship. You can build up quite a powerful craft with a bit of
practice, this in turn is more efficient and will earn you more cash. Apart
from the trading element, Subaqua is basically a fast action shoot 'em up.
It resembles David Braben's "Virus" to a certain extent and is entirely
mouse controlled. This is one of the best Shareware releases of 1997 and
deserves your support.
ALTERRA v1.01 by Niels Roest - A strategic wargame set in Medieval times. Up
to four players may participate with any number of these being human or
computer controlled. Your aim is to build cities, build up your armies and
wipe out the other players. Graphics are impressive and gameplay is
excellent, offering a number of user-definable options. Not all options in
this game are implemented yet, but it is more than playable and includes a
detailed manual on disk.
JOUST by Ken Waynwrite & John McCay - PD adaptation of the classic Atari
arcade game where you fly around on an ostrich carrying a lance. The aim is
to gain height as when two players collide, the highest one wins the joust.
When a player is eliminated, it lays an egg. Collect all of these before
they hatch to clear the screen and progress to the next level. Fast furious
action for one or two players.

MR BOOMER by Sector One - Described as a Super Bomberman clone for one
player. Move your man around the playing area towards the square marked
EXIT. Stay too long on one square and it disappears, move too close to the
edge of the playing area and you'll fall off! Just to complicate things you
have several nasties to avoid, a time limit to beat and several levels to
complete. Of course you have a limited number of bombs, be careful you don't
blow yourself up! Registered users get 100 extra levels and the ability to
skip completed levels using passwords. A fun, challenging game.
THRUST V0.5 by Alexander Kirchner - How many of you remember Thrust on the
C64, Spectrum and others? This is the Atari version and it runs in a GEM
window. For those unfamiliar with the original, you control by spacecraft in
a similar manner as in the game Asteroids (except there are no asteroids!)
and must avoid crashing and being hit by enemy fire. The goal appears to be
to destroy the other spacecrafts and find a ball located somewhere within
the level. Reaching the ball results in completion of the level. Only one
level is supplied but you can make up more using any monochrome graphics
package and a text editor. Instructions in German but we've done a RUF
translation.
BATTLE by Nature - A simple two player turns based war game. Each player has
four pieces and must move or fire in order to defeat the enemy. No
instructions! Multi-TOS compatible.
DOOM EMULATOR ENGINE V0.60 by Lord Chaos of Gang - Yet another DOOM engine
for the Falcon. As usual, you will have to source a WAD file from the cover
mounted CD of a PC magazine or download one from the Net. Even the Shareware
ones are too large to fit onto a floppy! We've tested this one and were
amazed to see that it supports texture mapping and you get the full range of
monsters to fight. Leaving it on the default settings gives near full speed
performance. Change them for a larger screen and/or high detail and the game
will become unplayable even after resetting them. If you can get your hands
on a DOOM 1 WAD file, you dare not miss this one! Needs 4 Mb and a hard
drive.

ladders game. You guide a bouncy cute-looking character (a spider perhaps?)
around the screen using keyboard or joypad. The aim seems to be to dodge the
nasties, avoid falling too far and collect tokens. The graphics are superb
and the soundtrack is well worth listening to. The demo has five levels of
difficulty ranging from unlimited lives to impossible to complete! It is
limited to playing on just one level. The full version will contain 16
levels spread across four different terrains, have 30 different types of
nasties and feature 12 different soundtracks. Game and docs entirely in
French but you'll pick it up in minutes. RGB or VGA.

PAC-GEM v0.2 - As the name suggests, this is Pac-Man in a GEM window. You
can select large or small playing areas (large requires a VGA or overscanned
RGB display) and between 1 and 9 ghosts. Gameplay follows the traditional
style of eating the pills and avoiding the ghosts. Where it differs is that
there are no power pills and ghosts cannot be killed. Instead, there are two
transporter pads which let you jump from one part of the playing area to
another. Great graphics and sound effects, pity there just appears to be one
level.
ALIEN BLAST by Epileptical - An impressive shoot 'em up. In a similar vein
to 999 Software's Alien Thing, you are in a spacecraft full of aliens and
must blow them all up! As you progress, you collect money, keys and
ammunition and move through various zones on the ship. It's an overhead view
game and the aliens move really fast! You'll collect plenty of money with
nothing to spend it on (unless you live long enough to reach the store!),
but quickly run out of ammunition. Can you complete this one-level demo?
Docs are in French but the game (including the sampled speech) is in
English. Full version from the authors.
THE BATTLE by Adam Rogala - A battleships and cruisers type game for one or
two players. 10 ships are placed on a grid by each player. You then take 10
shots to try to sink your opponent's ships and he does likewise. On
subsequent turns, your number of shots is reduced each time your opponent
knocks out one of your ships. Much harder than the traditional game as
you're looking for boats which occupy only one square. Includes animated
firing display complete with sound.
FCROSS by Michael Haar - A puzzle game based on Mario's Picross from the
Gameboy. You play on a 16x16 grid and must work out which parts of the grid
contain holes and fill these in (with the right mouse button). The only
clues are sets of numbers to the top and left of the rows. The doc explains
how to interpret these. The aim to to complete the puzzle within 30 minutes,
though you incur a time penalty for incorrectly identified holes. 21 levels
are included, so expect to spend a few weeks on this one! FCROSS is RGB

engine, it features original graphics, animation and sound and there's more
to it than just shooting at everything that moves! In addition to surviving
(and shooting everything that moves) you must also complete a number of set
tasks to finish each level. The playing area is huge and the action is fast.
You can set screen size, detail level and so forth. Large screen and high
detail work well on a standard Falcon. There are nine different characters,
some of whom are civilians, and your character communicates with base using
a laptop. He also talks to you! This Shareware release features one complete

variant, there are no "floor tiles" in the spaces immediately next to the
level exit and it is your job to fill them in with blocks so you can step on
them to reach the exit. As with all Sokoban clones, the first level is easy,
then you progress to more cryptic situations where a lot of thought is
required in order to avoid boxing yourself in. This is one of the more
challenging Sokoban games around and is sure to give hours (weeks?) of fun.

CORSAIR by Impulse - One of the oddest games around! It's a two player game
where both players have the same aim, to destroy the aliens. Aliens takes
different forms and guises and take on a different appearance on the
different levels. Each player controls a cannon which is attached to the
bottom or right hand edge of the player area respectively. The cannon on the
right moves vertically, the one on the bottom horizontally. The aliens
descend from above and try to gain a foothold on these two sides. You must
play cooperatively, not competitively. Kill your opponent and you lose a
life! Sounds complicated, but it's quite the opposite, young and old will
love this game. Nice big colourful aliens, humorous (even hilarious!) sound
samples and fast action make this a simple yet addictive game. Control by
keyboard, joystick or joypad. Just one thing, don't press Fire to start (it
takes you back to the Desktop), press Space instead. Needs 4Mb.

JETSET WILLY by Paul Taylor and Carl Whitwell - Look what we've unearthed
from the archives! Jetset Willy was a classic with a cult following on the
Spectrum and C64, there was even a followup though I can't remember its
name. The game was converted to the ST in the mid eighties but the
publishing house (Software Projects) pulled the plug on it before release.
Although unreleased, the game was completed. Software Projects are long
since departed and the authors have decided to release the game for all to
enjoy. It is identical to the 8-bit version but has lost none of its
original addictiveness. The only drawback is that it comes with no
instructions. You have to wander through about 50 levels of platforms and
ladders collecting objects as you go. A certain number of objects must be
collected before you are allowed to go to bed. There's a timer and needless
to say, you must complete your task before bed time! Runs beautifully on the
Falcon (if a bit fast!), but you must be in ST low res. Does anyone else
have any unreleased classics looking for a home?
STATIC V1.0 by The Resevoir Gods - A jazzed up game of patience. Producing a
card game with excellent graphics, an impressive soundtrack and up to four
players was not enough for the RGs! There's sampled sounds, four card sets,
17 different joker cards which can be dropped onto your opponents, an option
to steal cards from your opponents and much more. You even get to sign your
name in the highscore tables. Everything is user configurable and gameplay
is fast action. If you thought card games were boring, you've never played

have property in order to get a loan, street people are easier to rob than a
bank, a judge is harder to bribe than a juror, the list goes on...... This
is a text based game with no jazzy graphics, but it gets you addicted
regardless. Having said that, it comes with an excellent soundtrack and is
jam packed full of digitised speech and sound effects. Needs 4Mb.
MOLE MAYHEM by Croft Soft - You play the part of secret agent Philby of the

SUNSHINE by Solution Software - The computer adaptation of a dice game
popular in German pubs. Between two and eight players can take part and may
be computer controlled or human (only one human player in this version). You
throw three die and are trying to achieve predefined sets of numbers rather
than the highest score. Points are awarded according to the values on the
dice thrown. The first player may throw up to three times (can stop if he
achieves a good score before his third throw). The other players take the
same number of throws as the first player for that turn. At the end of each
turn, the winning player has his score added on and the lowest scoring
player has the winner's score deducted from his total. Cards are given out
at the end of each turn, according to scores. It is common for scores to be
negative. When any of the players amasses 15 cards, the game is over. Game
and instructions in English, German and French. Although fully playable,
registered users get access to several other game variants and the ability
to have more than one human player. Needs 4Mb and a hard drive.

THE POKER MACHINE V1.0 by Thomas Salin - The best ever computer

bet of 1 to 5 credits per deal (can be changed between deals). Assuming you
get three (or more) of a kind , two pairs or a flush, you gain points which
vary dependent on your chosen stake. Each time you achieve a score, you get
the chance to gamble your winnings, double or nothing. If you achieve a high
enough score you get to "buy stuff". This allows you to gain access to an
encrypted archive of the author's other programs! Each program has a "price"
tag in points. Assuming you achieve a high enough score, you can even
purchase the program which creates the archive and pass on your own software
to your friends as "prizes" for achieving high scores in TPM. You are given
10 accounts, each with 10 credits. Different players can use different
accounts and you can abort a game at any point, saving your account credits
for later use. This lets you build up enough points to buy stuff over a
period of time. The Poker Machine needs 4Mb of RAM and almost 3Mb of hard
drive space.

BATTLETRIS + by New Core - A Tetris clone which runs on any Atari but uses
the extended 4096 colour palette and stereo sound when running on the
STe/TT/Falcon. Apart from the futuristic style backdrop, it follows the
original closely with no real variation. Create a solid line of blocks to
destroy that line and earn 10 points, four lines in a row earns you 50
points, it's as simple as that. What this variant has going for it is the
ability to play against a friend by connecting two Ataris with a null modem
cable. In such a game, a status bar indicates how well (or badly) you are
doing against your opponent. Control is by keyboard, joystick or joypad.
GEM MANAGER 1995/1996 V0.89 by Ivan Glauser - As the name suggests, this is
a football manager program which runs in a GEM based shell. It handles
English Premier League, Italian Division A and Swedish Allsvenskan. All
teams and players are correct for the 1995/96 season but can be edited to
suit. Similarly, the teams and their managers are also editable. You can
even change the number of teams in the league, name of the league and other
details as required. Like other manager type games, you can buy and sell
players and have to avoid going bust! Statistics are given for player
attributes, top scorers, league tables and much more. You also get the
option to "see" the match. This gives you a running commentary (text not
speech) throughout the match and you hear the noise of the crowd and the
players on the pitch, all in glorious stereo! A well thought out football
manager game which is multi-tasking friendly, runs in any resolution and is
customisable to take account of player/manager changes, promotion/relegation
and such like.
PACKY V1.20 by A E Steinke - A Pacman game which runs in any 640x480 or
greater resolution in a GEM window. It follows the normal gameplay where you
avoid ghosts and collect power pills. Get all the pills and it's off to the
next level in this 21 level challenge. Things are further complicated by
bombs which must be avoided. You can play individual levels or just progress
through them sequentially. Every time you achieve 500 points, you get an
extra life and there's a highscore table. Many options can be altered to
suit. Packy runs as an ACC or PRG and is multi-tasking friendly too.
PUSH IT 2 by Jeremy Gillet - A Sokoban clone where you must push blocks
around the playing area and assemble them in a predetermined area in order
to progress to the next level. Your character is a marble and this variant
is more challenging than most because the playing area is displayed in 3D as
an overhead view. It takes a few minutes to synchronise the joystick to your
character's movements, after that the game becomes enjoyable! As is usual
for this type of game, you must ensure you don't box yourself in! Levels may
be saved, then reloaded, so you can continue play at a later date. This game
is reminiscent of several popular 3D type commercial games on the ST. A
stereo soundtrack plays throughout.

STETRIS by Paranoia - Yet another Tetris clone for one or two players. It
displays two playing fields side by side, regardless of whether you are
playing a one or two player game. In one player mode, gameplay is as per the
original where you must make up complete lines from the falling blocks in
order to clear the lines. In two player mode, although you are playing
simultaneously on different "boards", you can throw various "booby-traps" at
your opponent without him knowing what you will attack him with next. He can
of course do likewise and there's the possibility of reversing these so they
bounce back on the player who "sent" them! In either mode, you can change
the MOD used as a soundtrack and customise numerous settings to suit.
Control is by keyboard or joystick. Somewhat drab in single player mode, but
fascinating in two player mode!
LINE UP V1.0.0 by Mario Becroft - The ultimate sliding puzzle game? It is
similar to those hand-held sliding puzzles where one square is left blank to
allow the others to be moved around. In this case, it is more difficult as
there isn't an "empty" square. The author describes the principle as that of
a two dimensional Rubiks cube! You may select between two modes of play. In
the first, you must arrange coloured blocks or symbols in such a manner as
to get like with like on the same row. The alternative game mode allows a
picture (any 256x256 pixel IMG can be used) to be loaded. These are then
jumbled in a random fashion and the blocks must be rearranged in order to
reconstruct the original image. In both game types you can select the grid
size, multiple Undos and Redos are supported and there's even an automatic
solve mode! Various levels of difficulty are included and you can save your
customised settings. Multi-tasking friendly.
HONGTRON by The Resevoir Gods - A True Colour game in 128 bytes, in fact the
doc is longer than the game! It's a traditional light cycles/tron type game
where you control a fast moving line and must constantly change direction,
avoiding running into yourself. A great one for the reflexes.
NOVA MINES by Huber Gerhard - Another Minesweeper clone where you must
uncover all squares on a grid without getting blown up, you do this by
flagging known mined squares using a process of elimination. Nova Mines runs
in a GEM window and is therefore multi-tasking friendly. You can play on
grids of 10*10, 16*16, 30*16 squares with 10, 40 or 99 mines hidden
dependent on the size of the grid. There's a timer, so you can always try to
beat your last time.
REEKING RUBBER V0.71 by Nature - A much later (now renamed) version of the
car racing game on F.6149. This version features texture mapped road and
scrolling background, sound effects and several cars on the track besides
your own. Only one of the scenarios (desert) is implemented and the car
still has no brakes. Looks like it could be the best racing car game yet, if
it ever gets finished. At least this version does have a limited amount of
playability. Needs 4Mb and a hard drive.

DESIGNER by Duranik - A level editor for use with Impulse, the Arkanoid
clone on F.6293. It lets you create forty new levels for use with the game
and supplies a modified version of IMPULSE.PRG which recognises the new
levels. You can of course have more than 40 levels, you just need to save
multiple data files and rename them to NEWLEVEL.DAT prior to commencing a
game. The level editor lets you select and place bricks (different colours
have different attributes) on the playing area, change background patterns,
enemy sprites, determine the extra symbols which will appear when a brick is
hit, and the number of hits required to destroy a brick.
DR WHO QUIZ - Just how much do you know about the TV series Dr Who? This
program takes the form of a quiz, firing random questions at you. The
database is fairly large, so you will usually be presented with different
questions each time. After ten questions, you are informed of your score.
Screenshots from the series appear throughout the quiz and you can listen to
the theme tune if you have Paula (F.4867) running. Theoretically, Dr Who
Quiz is meant to run on any Falcon in 256 colour mode, but I've only been
able to get it running under MagiC. Needs 4Mb.
WORMANIA V1.6 by More Soft - A game for up to four players. You must guide
your worm around the screen collecting pieces (to amass points), avoiding
walls, other worms and any other objects you may encounter. The last worm
remaining wins the game. You can set the worm names and colour, control
keys, game speed and window attributes to suit. Wormania runs in a GEM
window and is therefore multi-tasking friendly. Program in English, docs in
